NAWRA would like to wish all our members and supporters a very happy Christmas and a successful 2014. Don’t forget that we already have a full programme of events scheduled for the new year and we hope that you will be able to join us for some, or all, of them.

We are deeply saddened by the news that our friend and colleague, Phil Hanns, passed away on 28th October 2013.  Phil had been vice-chair of NAWRA for many years and was much loved and respected by all of us.  His passing leaves a huge gap on our executive committee and in all of our hearts. Our thoughts and love are with his family, friends, colleagues and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

NAWRA is proud to offer its support to the ‘Who Benefits?’ campaign. Around 90 organisations, including Carers UK, MIND, Macmillan, the Children’s Society, rightsnet, Disability Rights UK, Shelter, Scope, CPAG and NAWRA, have joined forces to launch the ‘Who Benefits?’ campaign. Our next meeting will be hosted by Neath Port Talbot Welfare Rights Service and will be held at The Gwyn Hall, Orchard Street, Neath, SA11 1DU on Friday 6th December 2013 from 9.30am until 4pm. The agenda will be available here shortly. In the evening after the meeting, you are invited to come along to the annual NAWRA Christmas Party!
