  • NAWRA members Swansea Welfare Rights Team has produced updated versions of their guides to completing the ESA50 and PIP2 ( Aug 2017)

 

 

 

 

  • Losing track of the frequent changes to the benefit system? NAWRA’s benefit changes chart has been updated. It itemises changes since 2011 and future changes planned up to 2018.  The chart includes details of each change and provides analysis and an assessment of the likely impact. (May 2016)
  • NAWRA has submitted a response to the Social Security Advisory Committee consultation decision making and mandatory reconsideration (Mar 2016)
  • NAWRA has submitted a response to the Social Security Advisory Committee consultation concerning the government’s intention that ‘surplus earnings’ from the previous six months should be taken into account when a person reclaims universal credit (UC) (Nov 2014)
  • NAWRA has responded to the Social Security Advisory Committee’s consultation on  the government’s intention that Universal Credit claimants must wait seven days before they are entitled to benefit (Oct 2014).  SSAC published their report in June 2015, making use of NAWRA’s evidence.

  • NAWRA submitted a response to the Social Security Advisory Committee’s call for evidence on the universal credit and related regulations. (July 2012)
  • NAWRA submitted a response to the DWP consultation on PIP: completing the detailed design which highlights members’ concerns about the design of the new benefit. (June 2012)
  • The University of Salford recently conducted some research in Kirklees on the impact of welfare rights advice on the increased disposable income of claimants and the positive multiplier effects on the local economy.  It may be useful to members putting forward the case for funding welfare rights advice. (June 2012)
