Diane Connock is a NAWRA representative for Scotland.
Diane has been working in the advice field for over 25 years; firstly in the third sector with Shelter Scotland and then in the public sector with Stirling Council. In her current role with Stirling Council she manages teams providing income maximisation, welfare rights and money/debt advice, as well as digital inclusion advice and support. She is also the corporate lead for Welfare Reform and Child Poverty.
Diane was previously an auditor and peer reviewer for the Scottish Government’s National Standards for Advice and Information Providers (SNSIAP); and has been a Director at Rights Advice Scotland (RAS) since summer 2024, regularly contributing to Round Table meetings with Social Security Scotland and the DWP. She has extensive experience of challenging, influencing and improving both local and national policies; and has given evidence at the Scottish Parliament’s Social Justice and Social Security Committee.
She has a BSc (Hons) in Social and Management Sciences and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
