We are pleased to return to the City Chambers in Edinburgh on 13 September 2019.
Our guest speaker will be Shirley-Anne Somerville, Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People. We will also hear from Edinburgh Poverty Commission, Poverty Alliance and the Carnegie UK Trust. There will be participatory workshops on investment in welfare rights, Scottish government social security powers, basic income and the commission on social security led by experts by experience.
NAWRA members will be meeting for food and drinks at the Pilgrim Bar (note the change of venue) from 6pm on Thursday 12 September. Quote “NAWRAPILGRIM” for a 25% discount on food and 15% off drinks.

The meeting is kindly hosted by Stockton on Tees Borough Council Welfare Rights Service. Our guest speakers will be Alex Cunningham MP and Tracey Herrington of the Poverty Truth Commission. There will be workshops on the benefit cap, benefits for children and local welfare assistance schemes. This meeting is also our AGM.
